Apartheid is the highest form of discrimination, which existed in South Africa. That is the places of residence were classified by racial discrimination. Its policy of governance by Whites over Non-white people.

The South African people protested against the Apartheid. Nelson Mandela raised their voice against the Apartheid. He also organized agitation and campaigns against the government.

He was imprisoned for sedition. Due to national and international pressure and the fear of civil war, Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 by President F.D.de Klerk.

Madela and Klerk took efforts to end Apartheid. After this South Africa hosted a multiracial general election Madela led African National Congress to win the general election and Mandela became President.
