The question is primarily asked from the Tamil Nadu State Board book, Samacheer Kalvi books, and various other sources. There is also a current affairs section where the question is primarily asked from the latest news events, India Yearbook, etc.

For the mathematical aptitude section, it is asked in the level of tenth maths and quantitative aptitude books.

Finally, language is very important for certain exams such as Group 4, where most of the questions are from language books from 6th-12th, either in Tamil or English.

General Studies Tnpsc

General studies is an important part of Tnpsc exams, especially for Group 1, and Group 2, and partly for Group 4 and other exams.

Tnpsc General studies consist of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, and Indian Polity.

Tnpsc Study Materials

The study material was primarily prepared from Tamil Nadu State board books, Ncert, and other standard sources. These notes are prepared to keep in mind for UPSC, and SSC as the syllabus is almost the same.

These notes will be also helpful for the other state public service exams.

Tnpsc Group 1 Syllabus

This is the topmost exam in the State of Tamil Nadu. The quality of the questions asked is very high. One should not only prepare from the State Board book but also from other standard books.

In all the notes, we have mentioned the source of the classic book, which will be helpful for your reference.

Tnpsc Group 1 Notes and Pattern

As Tnpsc Group 1 is concerned, it is on par with UPSC standards. The questions asked in the prelim of Tnpsc Group 1 are objective types. The syllabus is a photocopy of UPSC and the standard of the question is also UPSC standard.

The primary source of Tnpsc notes for group 1 is taken from the Samacheer Kalvi old and new books. But notes for certain topics are not available in the Samacheer Kalvi book, which we have taken from Standard reference books made for UPSC.

For some topics, the Standard books of UPSC are better, which extensively cover the topic. One such example is the Subject, “Indian Polity” and for this subject, the standard book is Indian Polity by Laxmikanth, which is considered the best book by many experts and aspirants.

For Group 4 you can refer to Samacheer books but for Group 1, the advanced study is a must.

Tnpsc Group 4 Notes, Syllabus and Pattern

This exam is conducted for a post such as VAO, Typist, etc. This exam pattern is similar to Group 1, but the General studies syllabus is made less compared to Group 1 and Group 2.

But to compensate for that Language part is added. The language part consists of General Tamil and General English. The language syllabus is made purely from Samacheer Kalvi Books. One should have a Samacheer Kalvi’s book or PDF will be handy.

There is an Aptitude and mental ability test based on the 10th standard level and there is the current affairs part which is mostly asked from Hindu newspapers or any News Paper.

Tnpsc Books

For Tnpsc the primary source of notes must be taken from Samacheer Kalvi Book, both old and new. The best book for starters is the Tnpsc Sakthi Guide.

Apart from Samacheer Kalvi can also refer to standard books for more understanding and knowledge which will also be helpful for the other Central Government exams such as UPSC, SSC, Railways etc.
