Wildlife Protection Act 1972

This law provides protection to wild animals and birds. This is an Act of the Parliament. By this law, protection is provided to wild animals, birds, and plants.

This law extends to the whole of India. Its features are the establishment of Wildlife Sanctuaries, National Parts, etc. The next feature is to prohibit the hunting of endangered species.

It also provides the license for the sale, transfer, and possession of wildlife species.

The significance of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 is, it regulates the sanctuaries, national parks, zoos, and other protected regions. Also, it protects the illegal trade of wildlife.

Water (Prevention and control of Pollution) Act, 1974

Provides maintenance and restoration and quality of all types of surface and groundwater.

Forest (Conservation) Act,1980

Check deforestation and encourage afforestation of non-forest areas.

The Environment(Protection) Act, 1986

Providing for the protection and improvement of the Environment.

Biological Diversity Act, 2002

To provide for the conservation of biological diversity

National Green Tribunal Act, 2010

Environmental protection and conservation of forests and other natural resources.
